-

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, is on a high-level working visit to the United Kingdom from March 3 to 5, 2025, to strengthen diplomatic ties and enhance cooperation in trade, investment, technology, media, and academia.

A statement from the ministry’s acting spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to global partnerships for economic growth and sustainable development.

During the visit, Tuggar will speak at Chatham House on Nigeria’s foreign policy and global aspirations. He will also attend a roundtable at the House of Commons to discuss economic diversification, investment, and digital transformation. Additionally, he will meet with key media stakeholders at the BBC House and financial institutions like JP Morgan and British International Investment (BII) to explore investment opportunities.

Bilateral talks with senior UK officials will focus on security collaboration, intelligence-sharing, business expansion, and academic partnerships. The minister will also engage with the African Centre and the University of Cambridge to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building.

The visit aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s foreign policy agenda, which prioritizes economic diplomacy, strategic partnerships, and regional stability.
