Gov. Kefas’ Sister Dies from Gunshot Injuries After Taraba Attack

-

Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has died from gunshot wounds sustained during an attack in Kente village, Wukari Local Government Area.

The 44-year-old passed away at a private hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving treatment after being transferred from the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari.

Reports on the circumstances of the attack remain conflicting. Some sources suggest it was the result of a bandit attack, while others point to an accidental discharge by a security operative accompanying her. The state police command, through spokesperson Usman Abdullahi, has attributed the incident to armed robbery.

As of now, the Taraba State government has yet to issue an official statement on the tragic incident. This lack of clarity has intensified public concerns and condemnation amid ongoing insecurity in the state.

Atsi Kefas’ death marks another alarming event in Taraba, where similar violent incidents have become increasingly common, heightening fears for public safety.
