Amid heightened tensions following the deployment of troops to his palace, Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on his supporters to remain peaceful and avoid violence.
Speaking during the Friday sermon at the Emirate’s Jummaat Mosque, the Emir emphasized the importance of patience and peaceful coexistence, regardless of provocation.
“I warn you against falling into the traps of the enemies of Kano, who want to see Kano on fire. They desire killings, destruction of public property, and harm to innocent lives,” Sanusi stated.
The Emir urged his followers to exercise restraint, highlighting the value of patience in both challenging and peaceful times.
“If you are attacked, patience leads to greatness, but a lack of it results in uncertainty, difficulties, and losses for everyone. Therefore, we ask anyone who loves and supports us to shun violence at all times,” he added.
Sanusi’s plea for calm comes amid speculations and rising tensions surrounding the recent sealing of the palace. His message aims to prevent unrest and promote unity in the region.
This development underscores the Emir’s commitment to peace and stability in Kano, as the state faces mounting political and social challenges.
