Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has expressed optimism about the creation of Apa State, emphasizing that the movement remains strong and viable.
Speaking at a reception organized by the Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM) in Abuja on Tuesday, Moro urged the people of Benue South to remain hopeful, assuring them that their representatives and other stakeholders are actively working to make the dream a reality.
“The agitation for Apa State creation has not fizzled out, and all necessary steps are being taken. Our request has been submitted to the Constitution Review Committee, and we are hopeful for a positive outcome,” he said.
Moro also highlighted the aspiration of the people of Benue South to produce a governor for Benue State in the future, citing fairness, equity, and justice as the driving principles.
In addition, the senator revealed his proposal for a Power Rotation Bill, which seeks to institutionalize the rotation of the presidency among the six geopolitical zones and governorship among the three senatorial districts in each state.
“This bill, once passed into law, will be transmitted to states for adoption, ensuring balanced power-sharing across the nation,” Moro added.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing the goals of his constituents and fostering unity in leadership.
