Arsenal captain, Martin Ødegaard, has named Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk as the toughest opponent he has ever faced in the Premier League. Ødegaard, who has been a standout performer since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid, singled out the Dutch defender in a quickfire Q&A with TNT Sports.
The 25-year-old midfielder, known for his technical skills and leadership, was asked to name his most challenging opponent. Ødegaard promptly replied, “I think Virgil is a really tough one,” acknowledging van Dijk’s formidable presence on the field.
In the same interview, Ødegaard also revealed that his best friend in football is his Arsenal teammate, Kai Havertz, and he regarded former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry as the club’s greatest player of all time.
