The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) successfully rescued a driver after a 40-foot loaded container fell onto a Toyota Camry at Mile 2, en route to Apapa. The incident, which occurred on Monday, prompted a swift response from emergency services.

A joint rescue team, including LASTMA, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), worked together to extract the driver, who was then rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention. The operation was supported by the Kirikiri Police Division, which ensured safety and order during the rescue.

Following the rescue, LASTMA teams removed the vehicle from under the container and continue to manage the scene to alleviate traffic congestion. Efforts to evacuate the container are ongoing.

LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, emphasized the need for proper container security by truck drivers and owners, urging strict adherence to road safety protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
