PDP Rejects Ondo Gubernatorial Election Result, Plans Legal Challenge

-

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the outcome of Ondo State’s gubernatorial election, vowing to challenge the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC’s Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa the winner, with 366,781 votes, defeating PDP’s Ajayi Agboola, who secured 117,845 votes.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ayo Fadaka, special adviser to Agboola, accused INEC of compromising the electoral process. The PDP claimed it had uncovered several actions undermining the will of the people and warned that democracy could not flourish in an environment marked by election-related criminality.

The party expressed its intent to pursue legal action to contest the results, with hopes of securing justice.
