Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned the newly-appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, about potential terrorist attacks across seven Nigerian states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from December to February.
In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele cautioned the COAS that terrorists are planning to strike in Abuja, Imo, Plateau, Niger, Katsina, Borno, and Benue states. He emphasized that the Nigerian Army must exercise caution during this period to prevent an increase in insecurity casualties.
The prophet urged the military to conduct thorough operations to track down and neutralize these terrorists, stressing the importance of protecting all military formations. He also warned of an emerging smaller terrorist group, which could be eliminated with proper preparation.
Ayodele further mentioned that terrorism could escalate into a significant crisis in 2025 if not properly addressed. He also referenced previous warnings he gave to the Nigerian Army about the emergence of a new terrorist group, now reportedly active.
He added that the battle against terrorism is not only a military issue but also a spiritual one. Ayodele reiterated his earlier advice to the Nigerian Army to seek divine intervention, advocating for the building of three towers for God’s protection. He also cautioned that a more formidable terrorist coalition, comprising groups like Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, and Hezbollah, is on the horizon. He urged the new COAS to heed both spiritual guidance and expert counsel in tackling the growing threat.
