In Ondo State, police have arrested a 34-year-old man, Monday Chukwu, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Kefa Ofando, to death over a N2,000 debt. The incident occurred in Akintola village, within the Odigbo Local Government Area.
According to police reports, the two men got into a heated argument over the debt, which led Chukwu to stab Ofando in the neck with a pair of scissors. Ofando was rushed to the hospital but died from excessive bleeding before receiving treatment.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Oladipo Abayomi, confirmed the arrest and provided more details, stating that Chukwu had borrowed the money from Ofando, and their dispute escalated when Ofando asked for repayment.
Chukwu is currently in police custody as investigations continue into the tragic event.
