As the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies, Nigerians residing in Lebanon have disputed the Federal Government’s claim that 500 citizens have registered for evacuation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated over the weekend that around 500 Nigerians had registered with the Nigerian Embassy in Beirut for evacuation. However, the President of the Nigerian Community in Lebanon, Roland Aigbovbiosa, refuted this, stating that the number pertains to individuals profiled for documentation, not those requesting evacuation.
Aigbovbiosa clarified that only 30 Nigerians have so far registered for evacuation, although the number is expected to increase as the conflict worsens.
