Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has expressed deep concern over the increasing prevalence of fake miracles being staged by some pastors in Nigeria. In a poignant Instagram post, Ogbonna criticized the exploitation of vulnerable individuals through deceptive practices, which he believes tarnish the true essence of Christianity.
Ogbonna’s post highlights the damaging effects of these fraudulent miracles, including broken trust and manipulated faith for personal gain. He described these actions as a betrayal of the gospel and called for a reflection among the pastors involved.
Addressing victims, Ogbonna emphasized the sanctity of their faith and reassured them that genuine miracles do not stem from deception. He urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other religious bodies to intensify their efforts in regulating and holding accountable those who exploit religion for profit.
Ogbonna’s message also touched on the need to resist social media trends that mock or disrespect Christianity, asserting that the faith should not be used as a tool for likes or viral content. He concluded by urging a collective stand to preserve the integrity of Christianity, which he believes is rooted in truth, love, and humility.
