NNPP Requests Suspended Executives to Appear Before Disciplinary Committee

-

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has directed six suspended state executives to appear before its National Disciplinary Committee. This follows the party’s recent decision to dissolve the executive committees of five state chapters, including Taraba, Gombe, Benue, Oyo, and Bauchi.

In a statement from the NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the party outlined the rationale behind the dissolution and subsequent disciplinary actions. The decision was announced after an emergency National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held in Abuja on September 17, 2024.

Johnson’s statement explained, “The dissolution and investigation of certain members are part of routine measures to reposition the party and address various issues.” He emphasized that these steps are crucial for the party’s growth and development.

The affected members, suspended for an initial period of three months, include Mrs. Ayobami Idowu Adekunle, Alhaji Rasheed Adebisi Olopoeniyan, Mr. Demola Oke, Mr. Kilamuwaiye Badmus, Mr. Oyesola Ololade, Mr. Olayiwola Musibau, Mr. Tunde Adedapo, and Ms. Riike Olanira. They are accused of anti-party activities and other offenses against the party.

The NWC stated that the disciplinary committee will review these allegations as per Article 45.6.2 of the NNPP constitution, which allows for suspensions and proceedings against accused members.

This action marks the NNPP’s continued efforts to address internal issues and reinforce its commitment to maintaining party discipline.
