Ganduje Dismisses Zazzaga as a “Loose Cannon” in APC Dispute

-

Chief Oliver Okpala, Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has condemned Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the APC North Central Forum Chairman, as a destabilizing force within the party. Okpala’s remarks come in response to Zazzaga’s recent criticism of Ganduje’s endorsement by North Central Governors’ Forum Chairman and Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

In a statement issued in Jos, Plateau State, Okpala accused Zazzaga of making reckless and baseless comments against both Governor Sule and Dr. Ganduje. He described Zazzaga as an “imposter” and “fake purveyor of lies,” suggesting that his actions are criminal and illegitimate.

Okpala criticized Zazzaga for attacking Governor Sule and Dr. Ganduje, questioning his commitment to the party’s values. He emphasized that Zazzaga’s actions are unbecoming of a dedicated party member and are damaging to the APC’s reputation. According to Okpala, Zazzaga’s public dissent and legal actions against the National Chairman are indicative of his disregard for party discipline and the rule of law.

“Zazzaga’s behavior suggests he is a loose cannon, planted by the opposition to create chaos within the party,” Okpala asserted. He emphasized that Zazzaga’s critiques of party leadership are futile, as the endorsement of Ganduje by the North Central Governors’ Forum is a position of significant authority and influence within the APC.

Zazzaga had recently rejected the endorsement of Dr. Ganduje by Governor Sule, a move that Okpala views as an attempt to undermine the party’s unity. Okpala further criticized Zazzaga for filing a court case against the National Chairman while simultaneously making inflammatory public comments, labeling this as a sign of disrespect towards the judicial process and the party’s internal mechanisms for resolving disputes.

Okpala urged Zazzaga to cease his public criticisms and instead address his grievances through proper party channels. He noted that political parties have internal platforms for resolving conflicts and that bypassing these processes undermines party cohesion.

In conclusion, Okpala reiterated that Zazzaga’s actions are an attempt to create division within the APC and that such efforts will ultimately fail. He stressed that the party’s leadership, backed by the support of the governors, remains steadfast and unified in its commitment to Dr. Ganduje and the APC’s objectives.
