President Bola Tinubu will make a brief stop in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before continuing to Beijing, China, for an official visit starting on Thursday, as confirmed by the Presidency.
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, stated that in Beijing, President Tinubu is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and engage with key Chinese business leaders during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
While in China, the President will participate in high-level discussions, sign memorandums of understanding, and lead an African delegation at the FOCAC Summit. His itinerary includes visits to prominent companies, such as Huawei Technologies and the China Railway and Construction Corporation (CRCC).
The engagement with CRCC aims to accelerate the completion of the Ibadan to Abuja segment of the Lagos to Kano high-speed rail line, underscoring Tinubu’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure and economic development.
Additionally, President Tinubu is scheduled to meet with chief executives of 10 major Chinese corporations, which collectively manage assets exceeding $3 trillion. The discussions are expected to cover key sectors such as ICT, oil and gas, and satellite technology.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials throughout the trip.
