Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the founder and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church and former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has shared a profound testimony about his struggle with cancer and how he was delivered from it.
During a recent event titled *Manna With Papa Ayo*, which was broadcast on his social media platforms, Pastor Oritsejafor revealed the details of his ordeal. He recounted that as he was departing Nigeria for the United States to seek medical treatment for cancer, a tragic parallel unfolded. A person he knew, who had the same aggressive type of cancer, was departing for the United Kingdom but unfortunately did not survive.
He reflected on the stark contrast of their fates, stating, “While I was leaving for America full of cancer, someone I knew was leaving for the United Kingdom with the same kind of cancer. On the day I returned to Nigeria, he was being brought back in a casket.”
Pastor Oritsejafor expressed his gratitude and astonishment at his own recovery, despite the severity of his condition. He emphasized that his faith and commitment to God played a crucial role in his healing. He said, “I walked onto the plane, but he wasn’t there. I am not better than him, but God remembered my heart. I have always had a heart for God. I told God, ‘If you save me from this, I would double my service, I would serve you twice more.’ God saved me and brought me home.”
Pastor Oritsejafor, who will turn 71 in November, remains a significant figure in Nigerian Christianity. He was the first Pentecostal leader to be elected President of CAN in July 2010. His testimony is a testament to his faith and the belief in divine intervention in his life.
