Benue PDP Passes Vote of Confidence in NWC, Damagum, Ortom, and Moro

-

The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its confidence in the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and its National Chairman, Illiya Damagum. This decision was announced during a press conference in Makurdi, where the party also affirmed its support for Samuel Ortom, the PDP leader in Benue State, and Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader representing Benue South senatorial district.

Laha Dzever, the Chairman of the PDP Elders’ Forum in Benue, spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, praising the leadership and efforts of Ortom, Moro, and former Governor Gabriel Suswam in advancing the party’s success. The party credited their collective leadership for the progress made, particularly in the conduct of local government congresses.

The forum also urged aggrieved members who had taken legal action against the party to instead utilize the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms. Dzever emphasized the importance of unity and placing the party’s interests above individual or group ambitions.

“We unanimously pass a vote of confidence in the NWC under the leadership of Damagum, and we also pass a vote of confidence in Ortom and Moro for their dedication to the party’s growth and success,” Dzever said.

The Benue PDP leadership called for all members to work towards peace, unity, and adherence to party laws, underscoring the principle of party supremacy as a guiding tenet.
