The upcoming Showtime Bowl Series XI, set to kick off on September 6 at Meadows Hall in Lagos, will feature a total prize pool of N20 million.
According to League Commissioner Adebari Adejumo, the tournament winner will receive N6 million, the first runner-up will be awarded N4 million, and the third-place team will take home N2.5 million. The remaining prize money will be distributed among the other nine participating teams.
Adejumo emphasized that this year’s edition will be larger and more thrilling, as the organizers aim to introduce unprecedented elements in both Nigeria and Africa. He highlighted a focus on community bonding and enhancing the welfare of the players, marking a shift toward a more professional and community-oriented approach.
The Commissioner also noted that the game has evolved from a semi-professional level to a fully professional one, with an eye on the 2027 Olympic Games as a future goal for the organizers.
Manal Nassar, CEO of ShowTime Bowl, added that they have created an international-standard turf and a competitive environment for both players and fans. Spectators will also have access to a Food Court, enhancing the overall experience and making the championship memorable.
Nassar further stated, “The Showtime Series is about building a sense of community, celebrating the culture of the players, and creating a family-like atmosphere among team owners, which goes beyond just flag football.”
