The Imo State Labour Party (LP) has urged the Supreme Court to deliver justice in its ongoing petition concerning the 2023 Imo gubernatorial elections. Speaking at the party’s secretariat in Owerri, LP state Chairman, Calistus Ihejiagwa, emphasized that the people of Imo are eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court’s review, seeking redress for what the party considers erroneous judgments by the lower courts.
Ihejiagwa highlighted the importance of the judiciary’s role in ensuring that the will of the people is respected, stressing that the 2023 election did not meet international standards for electoral transparency. He expressed confidence in the integrity of the judiciary and urged the Supreme Court to act without fear or favor to preserve justice and uphold the rule of law.
