Esther Walson-Jack has been officially sworn in as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation by President Bola Tinubu.
Walson-Jack succeeds Yemi-Esan, who was serving as the acting Head of Civil Service after being appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in September 2019. She also takes over from the suspended Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita.
In a Town Hall meeting organized by the Joint Union Negotiating Council (JUNC) to honor her departure, Yemi-Esan reflected on her tenure, stating, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve my country. My appointment as Head of Service was a blessing I never anticipated, made possible by the hand of God.”
She expressed her gratitude to both former President Buhari and President Tinubu for their support, and praised the dedicated work of her Permanent Secretaries, acknowledging their role in her success.
