The University of Benin has clarified that the recent donation of a female hostel was made by Senator Daisy Danjuma (née Ehanire), not by General Theophilus Danjuma, as previously reported.
In a press release issued by the UNIBEN Public Relations Officer, Benedicta Ehanire, the university emphasized the need to correct any misunderstandings regarding the donations. The statement outlined that while General Theophilus Danjuma contributed the first hostel, Senator Daisy Danjuma was responsible for the donation of the second and third hostels.
The statement read: “It is important to correct the record concerning the donations of hostels to the University of Benin. The first hostel was donated by General Theophilus Danjuma, while Senator Daisy Danjuma generously donated the second and third hostels. One of these was recently commissioned, and the other is under construction.”
Senator Danjuma’s commitment to girl-child education and development has been highlighted as the motivation behind her generous contributions. The university expressed its gratitude for her ongoing support and apologized for any inaccuracies in previous media reports.
