Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has reportedly lodged a petition against renowned musician Davido, accusing him of making menacing statements and threats directed at her due to her friendship with Sophia Momodu.
The alleged petition, represented in a viral photo, discloses that Tiwa Savage, through her attorney, submitted the document on January 9th. In the letter, she details how Davido sent derogatory and threatening messages after she posted pictures with Sophia Momodu, who is Davido’s baby mama.
Tiwa Savage asserts that Davido is displeased with her for maintaining a friendship with Sophia, with whom he has existing conflicts. In the petition, Tiwa Savage urges the police to hold Davido accountable if any harm befalls her or her family members.
The petition reads in part:
“And MR. DAVID ADELEKE sent messages to my manager, who’s also part of his management team, that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious, and derogatory words to my person.”
“The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, who he’s having issues with.”
“He has also told our mutual connections to warn me to be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up.”
Tiwa Savage expresses concerns about the situation escalating into a form of harassment, both online and offline, directed not only at her but also at her team members. She highlights that Davido’s actions violate her rights to life, privacy, and dignity, citing relevant constitutional and legal provisions.
In conclusion, she emphasizes the seriousness of her complaint, stating that if anything harmful were to happen to her or her family, she expects the Nigerian Police Force to hold MR. DAVID ADELEKE responsible.
