Akwa Ibom Governor Urges Christians to Assist Needy Neighbors During Christmas

-

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has called on well-to-do Christians to seize the spirit of Christmas as an opportunity to support people who may be facing challenges in the state.

In his Christmas message to the people on Monday, the governor emphasized the importance of extending a helping hand rather than simply providing handouts to those in need. He encouraged a collective effort for the growth and development of the state.

Governor Eno assured the people that the state would be filled with the spirit of love and peace throughout the festive season. He stated, “We will continue to flow with the waves of love and amity, and as you celebrate this day, please remember to reach out to those who may have fallen on the rough patches of life. Don’t just give handouts, give them a hand to get up, and let us together ARISE and work to extend the frontiers of the Golden Era of our collective growth, development, and progress.”

While urging people to live in peace and exemplify love, the governor called on politicians to discard hatred and divisive tendencies. He emphasized unity across the various regions of the state.

Governor Eno also pledged to address crucial family-related issues and prioritize workers’ welfare. He assured continued attention to workers’ needs, the creation of a conducive environment for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, and initiatives to enhance the educational and healthcare sectors in the state.
