The Gombe State Police command has showcased Biba Mohammed, a housewife, for the alleged murder of her husband in Barunde quarters of the metropolis.
The state Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, disclosed on Friday that the police responded to a distress call from a concerned resident reporting a suspected homicide in the neighborhood. Detectives from the Lowcost Division were dispatched to the scene, where they found Mohammed Maliki in a helpless state. The housewife reportedly admitted to killing her husband during the police interrogation.
Mohammed Maliki was swiftly taken to a specialist hospital, where a medical doctor pronounced him dead. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) stated, “Following a preliminary investigation, Biba Mohammed, the wife of the deceased, was taken into custody after confessing to the crime. In her statement, she admitted to using a pestle to strike his head. The case is currently under investigation at SCID and will be presented in court for prosecution upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
