The Nigerian government has introduced Galaxy Backbone’s ‘Govmail,’ along with ServiceWise GPT and the Federal Civil Service Online Portal, to revolutionize digital services for civil servants across the nation.
Didi Walson-Jack, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, announced these initiatives in Abuja on Thursday, marking her first 100 days in office. Galaxy Backbone’s spokesperson, Chidi Okpala, described the launch as a reflection of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to digital transformation in governance.
Walson-Jack praised the platforms, stating, “GBB’s Govmail is a game-changer for our nation’s civil service, streamlining communication and creating a secure path to other government digital services.”
Galaxy Backbone Managing Director, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, highlighted the importance of Govmail, emphasizing its role in boosting efficiency and ensuring secure communication within the public sector.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo, noted that Govmail reduces reliance on foreign email platforms, cutting costs and addressing licensing challenges.
The digital platforms stem from the Digitalisation War Room initiative led by Walson-Jack, aimed at fostering innovation and operational efficiency in the civil service.
