Family Crisis: Senator Nwoko and Regina Daniels Trade Allegations Amid Marital Breakdown

The once-celebrated marriage between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko has descended into a public feud marked by accusations and counterclaims, drawing widespread attention on social media.

What began as a fairy-tale union in 2019 now appears to be facing serious turmoil, with both parties airing grievances that suggest the relationship may be nearing collapse.

In a recent statement, Senator Nwoko alleged that he had given Regina’s mother N125 million over the past two years, responding to reports that Regina accused him of neglecting her family. He further claimed that the breakdown of their marriage was due to Regina’s alleged drug and alcohol use, which he said led to violent incidents and property damage.

According to Nwoko, Regina allegedly attacked three of his staff members within 48 hours before moving out of their home to an undisclosed location where she supposedly had “unrestricted access to drugs.” He said he had offered to help her through rehabilitation both in Abuja and abroad, while firmly denying claims of domestic violence.

“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here,” he said.

Regina Daniels has, however, denied all the allegations. In an emotional video shared online, she admitted that her family was going through a difficult time but insisted that she married Nwoko “for love, not money.” She accused the senator of using his influence to have her siblings arrested in an attempt to force her into returning to rehabilitation, expressing fears that her youngest sister could be targeted next.

“I will protect my children and my mother. Please stop insulting my family; we are already in pain,” she said.

The public dispute has triggered intense debate across social media, with fans and commentators divided in their sympathies. Viral videos, interviews, and statements from both sides continue to fuel speculation about the fate of their marriage.

As tensions persist—Nwoko focusing on rehabilitation and Regina demanding freedom and justice—their once glamorous relationship has turned into a highly publicized conflict, with love, power, and reputation all hanging in the balance.

  • Iyanya Urges Fans to Show Empathy to Celebrities

Iyanya Urges Fans to Show Empathy to Celebrities

Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly known as Iyanya, has urged fans to show greater empathy towards celebrities, reminding the public that fame does not shield entertainers from emotional challenges.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the *Your Waist* crooner described the life of a celebrity as “a double-edged sword,” highlighting the intense pressures that come with public attention.

“We need to understand that celebs are humans with deep feelings and struggles like everyone else,” he wrote. “Beyond the media glamorisation of their lives and personalities is a human simply asking and wishing and yearning to be human like the rest of us. It is a double-edged sword.”

Iyanya also drew attention to the unique emotional battles faced by male celebrities, noting that societal expectations often discourage them from expressing vulnerability.

“For male celebrities, perhaps there may be an even deeper level of struggle to come back up when one has hit a low — because men are wired to be stoic, not show vulnerability, not ask for help or they’d be considered weak,” he added.

His message has since sparked conversations online, with fans and fellow entertainers applauding his honesty about the hidden emotional toll of fame.

  • Hilda Baci Declares Iconic Guinness Record Pot Will Not Be Sold

Hilda Baci Declares Iconic Guinness Record Pot Will Not Be Sold

Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has announced that the giant pot used during her latest record-breaking feat will not be auctioned or sold.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday at Gino Nigeria’s office in Lagos, the celebrity chef described the custom-made cookware as a national and global symbol.

“Oh, you may not have heard of it. Trust me, so many people have asked about that pot. Some people want to buy it, they said we should auction it,” she told reporters.

Hilda, who in September set the Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, said the pot represents more than its practical use.

“That pot is a symbol of history, a symbol of faith, a symbol of innovation. The process of putting it together alone makes it very special,” she noted.

She explained that she and her team want the pot preserved as an inspiration for future generations.

“This is something that we want people, even 10 or 20 years from now, to be able to see and point to. We’re definitely not going to auction it,” she stressed.

Hilda revealed that the pot will be restored to its original form and displayed for public viewing. “We’re going to make sure as many people as possible get to see it—maybe in a museum or somewhere accessible,” she said.

The pot, with a capacity of 22,619 litres, was specially designed for the record attempt. It held 200 bags of rice during the cooking, producing 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz) of jollof rice—an achievement Guinness confirmed on September 19, 2025.

The event, hosted in partnership with Gino at Victoria Island, Lagos, drew a carnival-like crowd of food lovers, celebrities, and dignitaries. Among those present were Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, Ogun State First Lady Bamidele Abiodun, dancer Kaffy, fashion designer Veekee James, and entertainers such as Tacha, Papaya, Enioluwa, Alex Unusual, and Spyro.

Hilda, who first gained international attention with her 2023 cook-a-thon where she cooked non-stop for over 100 hours, has once again placed Nigerian cuisine on the global stage with her jollof rice feat.

  • Resurfaced Video of Influencer Sisi.Oyibo Sparks Debate on Identity and Migration

Resurfaced Video of Influencer Sisi.Oyibo Sparks Debate on Identity and Migration

A resurfaced video of social media influencer Sisi.Oyibo has triggered widespread debate online about identity, migration, and what it means to “belong” in Nigeria.

The clip, reshared on Sunday by X user Sir Dickson (@Wizarab10), shows the influencer responding to critics who questioned her Nigerian identity despite her foreign heritage.

In the video, she expressed frustration at the doubts, saying: “I said I’m white, I’m French, Lebanese, but they raised me in Ajah since I be pikin. I cannot be from somewhere again.” She further argued that Nigerians abroad often identify with the places they grew up. “If they raise you somewhere… Nigerians in America will say they’re from Houston or Atlanta. So me, that was raised in Lagos, I cannot say I’m from Nigeria again?”

Sir Dickson, while sharing the video, described the backlash against Sisi.Oyibo as hypocrisy. “A Nigerian raised in London or Atlanta will claim British or American. But when a foreigner raised in Nigeria does the same, you talk down on them. Migration happens both ways,” he wrote.

On Instagram, many praised her fluency in pidgin and Lagos upbringing. A user, @smartalliolayinka, wrote: “You are a Lagosian. Period.” Another, @paolofrancis07, added: “I’m loving it for the way you speak, girl. It’s awesome.” Humorous reactions also trended, including the phrase “You stone Texis.”

The debate deepened on X, where users linked the outrage to geographical bias. @UC_Emeliem suggested the criticism was tied to Lagos specifically, saying: “If she had mentioned any other part of Nigeria, they would have celebrated her.”

Others defended her right to identify as Nigerian. @Amaafrikaa argued: “Belonging isn’t about blood alone, it’s also about where you grow, live, and build.” Similarly, @PontiffVoice declared: “If you are born and brought up in Lagos, you are rightfully a Lagosian. Period.”
