AY Makun Laments Lack of Support from Fellow Men in Film Industry

Nigerian filmmaker and comedian, Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has expressed his frustration over the lack of support he has received from fellow men in the film industry.

On his social media platform X, AY shared his thoughts, asserting that most men tend to offer support to women more than to their fellow men. He highlighted the lack of camaraderie among male filmmakers, which has led him to feel isolated despite his hard work and achievements.

He wrote, “One Day men go tell man ‘wetin man do man.’ We work so hard to stay relevant and take care of our responsibilities. Must we get breasts and yansh to have the support of our fellow men?”

AY also claimed that he remains the only male Nigerian filmmaker who has yet to quit the industry due to the insufficient support from his peers.

The comedian’s post reflects the challenges male filmmakers face in a competitive industry, where collaboration and support are key to success.
