2027: Atiku vows to lead coalition to unseat Tinubu

-

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his intention to lead a coalition of opposition parties to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Atiku stated that the coalition will adopt any platform necessary to ensure good governance in Nigeria.

The primary goal of the coalition is to deliver genuine good governance that secures the future of Nigerian youth and future generations. Atiku described the coalition as a “fast-moving train with multiple stops to bring on board Nigerians of all shades.” He urged young Nigerians to resist financial inducements and remain committed to the broader vision.

Atiku’s coalition efforts have gained momentum following a high-profile meeting with former President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside key political figures. However, PDP governors have distanced themselves from merger or coalition talks, emphasizing party unity and welcoming new members but rejecting formal coalition discussions.

The success of Atiku’s coalition remains uncertain, with questions surrounding the unity and direction of the opposition heading into the next general election.
