Big Brother Naija Season 9 champion Kellyrae has made headlines by claiming he transferred N55 million to his wife, Kassia, from his prize money. He won a total of N60 million and a brand new car valued at N40 million after securing victory on Sunday.
Kellyrae and Kassia initially entered the show as a pair called DoubleKay. However, after Biggie unpaired the housemates, they had to compete individually. Following the unpairing, Kellyrae’s management supported his journey on the show, emphasizing their aim for him to win the N100 million grand prize over Kassia.
During an Instagram live session with Kassia on Tuesday, Kellyrae stated, “The [prize] money is N60 million; I’ve sent Kassia N55 million already to take care of herself.”
In response, Kassia refuted his claims, questioning, “To which account did you send the money? Why are you lying? You’re lying to your fans after they voted for you.”
Kellyrae defended himself by suggesting it was a “bad network,” stating, “They [my fans] will not drag me.”
Kassia, who was evicted from the house, later expressed her struggles with physical restraint regarding her husband during their time in the competition.
