“Being a Nigerian is My Superpower” – DJ Cuppy Reveals as She Celebrates Independence Day

-

Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has celebrated Nigeria as her superpower on the occasion of the country’s 64th Independence Day. Through her posts on X (formerly Twitter), she acknowledged the challenges Nigeria faces but emphasized that it remains a beacon of hope.

Cuppy expressed pride in her Nigerian identity, stating, “Being Nigerian is actually the superpower of the ‘Cuppy’ brand. No matter where I go, I will ALWAYS carry a piece of Naij with me! May God protect AND bless the future of Nigeria. Nigeria64.”

In a similar vein, actress Funke Akindele conveyed her strong belief in Nigeria’s potential for greatness. She rejected the notion of leaving the country, highlighting how her success as the highest-grossing producer and her ability to empower youth stem from her Nigerian roots. “Nigeria is a place where talents thrive and opportunities abound,” she declared.

Regina Daniels also shared her sentiments, asserting that despite the current state of the country, the love for Nigeria remains strong. She expressed hope that collective efforts would help improve the nation.

Tonto Dikeh echoed this sentiment, acknowledging the numerous challenges but maintaining that they are not insurmountable. She urged for a recommitment to building a future that future generations would be proud to inherit, with peace and justice as guiding principles.

Conversely, media personality Do2dtun criticized the celebratory mood, questioning what Nigerians had to celebrate in light of ongoing hardships. He called for a reality check, pointing out that the current situation has led to a cycle of blame among citizens.
