Group Demands Okpebhelo Explain “Insecurity” Pledge Within 24 Hours

-

The Edo Salvation Group (ESG) has voiced alarm over a viral video in which All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebhelo, appears to promise to provide insecurity if elected as governor of Edo State.

In a statement released on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Imman Ekpe, the ESG’s national coordinator, expressed the group’s deep concern about the video. ESG noted that despite waiting several days for Okpebhelo or his associates, including Senator Adams Oshiomhole, to refute the video’s content, no denial has been issued, leading them to believe the video is authentic.

The group highlighted that this issue raises serious questions about Okpebhelo’s competence, especially in light of other questionable statements he’s made during his campaign. ESG warned that if Okpebhelo does not clarify his remarks within 24 hours, they will publicly disavow his candidacy as unfit for office.
