The Federal Government has announced a significant increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, raising it from N568 per litre to N898 per litre. This price adjustment comes just as the Dangote Refinery begins its operations today.
Daily Sun’s investigation across major filling stations indicates widespread adherence to the new pricing. At the Mobil filling station in Abule Egba, the price surged from N518 per litre on Monday to N865 per litre on Tuesday.
Petroleum marketers have confirmed receiving directives to implement the new petrol price. This move reflects ongoing changes in the fuel sector as the country prepares for the impact of the Dangote Refinery’s entry into the market.
