Bauchi State Prepares to Distribute CBN-Donated Fertilizer to Farmers

-

Bauchi State is set to begin distributing 70 trucks of fertilizer, generously donated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, to local farmers.

Nuhu Wabi, the Emir of Jama’are and chairman of the distribution committee, announced on Tuesday that this initiative aims to support and enhance farming activities across the state. The fertilizer will be distributed to farmers in every polling unit within the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State.

Wabi emphasized that a broad range of groups, including communities, labor unions, religious organizations, women’s and youth groups, and other associations, will benefit from this free distribution. He commended both the Bauchi state government and the federal government for their efforts, highlighting the positive impact this support will have on grassroots farming.

He urged the recipients to utilize the fertilizer effectively to boost agricultural productivity and contribute to the state’s food security. Additionally, Wabi expressed his appreciation to the state government for entrusting him and his committee with the responsibility of ensuring a fair and equitable distribution process.

Wabi also noted that the committee’s mandate includes establishing criteria to identify genuine farmers and farmers’ associations, ensuring a fair distribution of the fertilizer, and submitting a comprehensive report to the state government within three weeks.
