Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun has officially lodged a police petition against Agozi Samuel following unfounded rumors circulating on the internet regarding an alleged affair with May Edochie, the wife of Yul Edochie.
Agozi Samuel, through a Facebook post, had claimed that Ayo Makun was romantically involved with May Edochie, leading to the dissolution of her marriage to Yul. Samuel had gone further to assert AY’s intentions to marry May Edochie.
Responding to the damaging allegations, Ayo Makun took decisive action by filing a police petition against Agozi Samuel, citing defamation and asserting that the false statements had caused significant harm to his reputation, built over more than a decade.
Captioning the now-deleted post, AY stated, “Enough is enough.”
Netizens expressed support for Ayo Makun, emphasizing the need to address false accusations trending on social media. Some suggested that legal action serves as a lesson to those making baseless claims against celebrities.
This development occurs amid hints of a potential marital crisis between Ayo Makun and his wife, Mabel Makun. Mabel had previously posted cryptic messages online, indicating threats to her life. Subsequently, it was observed that Ayo Makun and Mabel had unfollowed each other on Instagram, raising further speculation about the state of their relationship.
The couple, who celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in November, had appeared to be in good spirits, with Ayo expressing admiration for Mabel in December.
