Revealed! Why Kwankwaso is supporting Tinubu

Deji Adeyanju, An Abuja-based activist, has alleged that the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso is supporting his counterpart from the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu.

Adeyanju said Kwankwaso believes that Tinubu would make him the next president if he wins in 2023.

He pointed out that it will take another Southern and Northern presidential candidate 16 years to rule Nigeria if Tinubu wins in 2023.

In a series of tweets, Adeyanju: “If Tinubu becomes president, it will take another presidential aspirant from the South 16yrs to be president and same for a Northern candidate.

“This is one of the reasons Kwankwaso is now supporting Tinubu. He thinks Asiwaju will help him get power in 8yrs time.

“A very important lesson I learnt from this is that be less desperate about power. This is the same reason why Kwankwaso and Obi couldn’t work together when it’s obvious only one person can be president.”

Your choice of candidate wrong, totally unacceptable- Group tells Gov. Ugwuanyi

An Enugu based political group identified as Ezeagu Central Progressive Forum ECPF, on Saturday, told Gov. Ugwuanyi off on his choice of candidate for the People’s Democratic Party for the House of Assembly seat ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The group in a statement, described the governor’s action as a blunder, while emphasising that it is quite too late for his new gimmicks of mending an already broken fence.

This development according to the group is to condemn the fact that Hon. Chima Obieze who had earlier served two term in the state house of Assembly, has been given another ticket by the Governor to run for third term against the zoning policy that binds the political process.

The group is accusing the governor of favouring people from Ezeagu North against it counterparts, while revealing that it has gotten an information that some shadow parties have gone ahead to rent people to pose as though the Southern and Central part of Ezeagu is okay with the governor’s decision.

“We have gotten information that in other to cover up, the former Chief of Staff who is from Ezeagu North alongside member representing Ezeagu constituency in Enugu state also from the Northern part of Ezeagu, has tried and still trying to reach out to prominent personalities from Ezeagu central in a bid to pacify, cajole them into accepting the situation on ground. Also they are by virtue of information at our disposal, trying to pay a courtesy visit to the Governor. We wish to by this press release, reiterate that we stand on zoning and cannot go back on it.” It said.

Decrying the action, the group further urged those involved to desist from staging such charade as they can never be swayed by such political gimmicks reinstating that only parties that has overtime respected the zoning policy will henceforth get their support and nothing else.

“We are also by the use of this medium, advising all sons and daughters of EZEAGU CENTRAL to disassociate themselves from the purported meeting with Dr F.S.A UZOR and RT. HON CHIMA OBIEZE. On no occasion should any central son or daughter, follow Dr. Uzor and Obieze to any courtesy call/visit to the governor. A STICH IN TIME SAVES NINE” it added.

ECPF further opined that the action of the governor in disregarding the zoning policy and favouring only candidates from Ezeagu North, will soon constitute foreseeable and unforeseeable internal party crisis.

  • El-rufai threatens to sack Kaduna lecturers over ASUU strike

El-rufai threatens to sack Kaduna lecturers over ASUU strike

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has threatened to sack all the Kaduna State University (KASU) lecturers if they continue to observe the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

Recall that  ASUU has been on strike since February over the failure of the federal government to meet its demands.

Many attempts by the government to make the lecturers return to the classrooms have not yielded results as of today.

Just on Monday, labour unions commenced solidarity protests in some parts of the country with ASUU.

However, speaking on a radio programme in Kaduna on Wednesday, El-Rufai told the lecturers to return to classrooms in order to avoid having their positions declared vacant, adding that KASU lecturers had no reason to join any strike.

According to him, ASUU had a problem with the federal government, not the state government.

He said, “The Acting Vice Chancellor has assured me that they will resume, but I have asked them to find out if they actually resumed work, because I initially instructed that their salary be stopped. But I was later told they didn’t join the strike, so I asked that it should be investigated and those that collected salary and joined the strike will be asked to refund the salary.

“This is because Nigeria’s law says ‘no work, no pay’. This is the law. So whoever joined the strike will not be paid a salary. We have been telling the KASU lecturers that they have no problem with the State government. ASUU’s problem is with the Federal government. Therefore, why will our staff who have no problems with us join the strike?

“If this continues, I will wake up one day to sack them all, I swear to God. We will sack them all and declare their positions vacant on the pages of newspapers. They once did the same thing and we gave them warning, now they repeated it. I’m only waiting to receive the report from the commissioner for education. I swear to God, we will sack all those that joined the strike if they refuse to resume work.”
