Chief Isaac Kigbu, President of Eggon Youth Movement (EYM), on Thursday advised students to be hard working in order to excel in life.
Kigbu made the advice while addressing 33 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) students he sponsored at Awasco International College, Akeleku, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
He told the students that if they embraced hard work, they would succeed in life ,adding that would translate to the overall development of the country.
“There is no short cut to success, the best way for you to succeed in life is to work hard
” I wish you all flying colours in your examination and safe journey to your respective homes.” he said.
Kigbu said that he had decided to pay the students WASSCE fees to reduce the burden of fees on their parents .
“The payment of your WAEC fees is part of my commitment to complement your parents and government efforts in the education sector.
“The importance of education to human and societal development cannot be overemphasised, “the youth leader said.
Kigbu urged them and other students to continue to read their books while waiting for their results and admission in higher institutions.
The youth leader also assured the students of his continued determination to assist the orphans, widows, less privileged ones among other citizens to improve on their standard of living.
Responding, Likita Akolo and Josephine John, the beneficiaries, appreciated Kigbu for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.
The duo assured of their readiness to work hard and embrace reading culture in their interest and for the overall development of the country.
