Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has assured residents of enhanced security during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Speaking during a routine security council meeting in Damaturu on Thursday, Governor Buni, represented by Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana, emphasized that the meeting aimed to assess the state’s security situation and devise strategies to ensure peaceful festivities.
Following the closed-door deliberations, the Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Garba, addressed the press, reaffirming the commitment of security agencies to safeguard lives and property during the holiday period.
He urged parents and guardians to supervise their children, warning that law enforcement agencies would not tolerate activities that could disrupt public order.
The state government’s proactive measures aim to foster a secure environment, enabling residents, particularly Christians, to celebrate the season peacefully.
