The Borno State Police Command has apprehended two suspects and recovered 25 stolen mobile phones during a stop-and-search operation by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Maiduguri.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the suspects confessed to snatching the phones from individuals in communities and villages near the Borno-Adamawa State border.
“The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for prosecution after investigation,” ASP Daso stated.
Efforts are underway to identify and reunite the recovered phones with their rightful owners. The Command urged victims of phone theft to come forward with proof of ownership to reclaim their devices.
With the Yuletide season approaching, the Police Command reaffirmed its dedication to public safety. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant, be mindful of their surroundings, and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
