President Bola Tinubu has appointed Jami’u Abiola as his Senior Special Assistant on Linguistics and Foreign Matters. The appointment, which took effect on November 14, 2024, was confirmed in a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The statement indicated that Abiola’s appointment is in accordance with the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) Act 2008, as amended. Prior to this new role, Jami’u Abiola served as the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice President.
As the son of the late MKO Abiola, President Tinubu has tasked him with working closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leveraging his experience to contribute effectively to national and international matters in his new role.
