Analysts Predict Bright Future for Nigerian Breweries Following Strong Q3 Results

-

Recent financial results from Nigerian Breweries Plc for the third quarter of 2024 have sparked positive reviews from analysts and stakeholders, who believe the strong fundamentals indicate a promising resurgence for the brewing giant.

The company reported a total revenue of N703 billion for Q3 2024, a remarkable increase from N403 billion in the same period last year. Additionally, gross profits rose by 36% to N207 billion, up from N152 billion in 2023.

Chibueze Ona, Managing Partner at Francona Consulting, praised the results, suggesting Nigerian Breweries is on track to regain its position as one of the most valuable brands on the Nigerian capital market. He acknowledged the challenging market conditions but expressed confidence that hard work will yield future benefits.

Ona remarked, “Nigerian Breweries is doing exceedingly well given the circumstances. I commend the management for its determination to navigate the challenges of the Nigerian market. While there’s still work to do to satisfy short-term investors, the current figures indicate we are no longer far from that goal.”

He also highlighted Heineken’s commitment to Nigeria, emphasizing that the country remains Africa’s largest market and that long-term investments will eventually pay off.

Prince Mike Eze, Managing Director of Crane Securities, echoed these sentiments, noting that the fundamentals suggest a return to growth for Nigerian Breweries. Despite the challenges posed by the depreciating naira, he remains optimistic about future market stability.

“It’s unfortunate that the naira’s decline has affected many businesses, but I commend Nigerian Breweries for its focus on maintaining leadership and presence. The growth in revenue and gross profits is a testament to its drive for profitability,” Eze stated.

Akonte Ekine, CEO and Lead Strategist at AbsolutePR, commended Nigerian Breweries for its commitment to the Nigerian market despite significant economic challenges. He praised the company’s efforts to maintain its leadership position and support for its customer base.

“Nigerian Breweries has exemplified belief in the Nigerian market. Although it has had to temper its marketing innovation due to economic difficulties, it has remained committed to its customers, which is highly commendable,” Ekine concluded.
