Faisal Makarfi, son of former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has died following a car accident along the Kaduna-Kano highway. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning near Lambar Zango, Zaria.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna State Sector Commander, Kabir Nadabo, confirmed the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday. According to Nadabo, the crash involved a KIA vehicle traveling from Zaria to Kaduna, which somersaulted after its front right tyre detached.
Three male passengers were in the vehicle. Faisal Makarfi was transported to a hospital in Kaduna for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival. The other two passengers remain unconscious.
FRSC personnel cleared the crash site to restore traffic flow, while the burial of Faisal Makarfi is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Sultan Bello Mosque, Unguwar Sarki, Kaduna.
