Antoine Griezmann, one of France’s most prominent footballers, has officially announced his retirement from international football. The 33-year-old forward made the announcement on September 30, marking the end of a remarkable career with the French national team.
Griezmann played 137 matches for France, scoring 44 goals and providing 38 assists. He was instrumental in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup victory and their 2021 UEFA Nations League triumph. Additionally, he won the Golden Boot at the 2016 UEFA European Championship.
In a farewell video posted on X, Griezmann said, “It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolour adventure, and see you soon.”
His retirement signals the conclusion of an era in French football, as his contributions were pivotal to the national team’s success over the last decade.
