Argentine striker Mauro Icardi has expressed his eagerness to team up with Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray. As Icardi recovers from an injury in Argentina, he has set his sights on the upcoming Istanbul Derby against Fenerbahçe, scheduled for September 22.
In a message to Osimhen and the club, Icardi said, “My message to Osimhen: Wait for me, we’ll score a lot of goals together.” This statement reflects his enthusiasm about forming a potent attacking partnership with Osimhen.
Osimhen, who recently joined Galatasaray from Napoli, acknowledged Icardi’s legendary status and expressed his willingness to learn from him. “There is no competition between me and Icardi. He’s already a legend. I have much to learn from him,” said Osimhen following his debut.
Icardi, who suffered a second-degree strain and partial tear in his right upper back muscle during a Super Lig match against Adana Demirspor, is keen to return to action and contribute alongside his new teammate.
