Manchester City midfielder Rodri says he already feels like a winner of the Ballon d’Or, thanks to the overwhelming public support he has received since being shortlisted for the prestigious award.
Rodri played a key role in Manchester City’s Premier League title win last season and also helped Spain secure victory at Euro 2024. Despite facing tough competition from Real Madrid stars Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, Rodri expressed pride in being part of the conversation.
“People tell me I deserve it, and for me, that means I’m already a winner,” Rodri told ESPN. “Being recognized for my hard work is unbelievable, and even being considered is incredible.”
