Okpebholo Pledges to Revive Bendel Brewery and Create Jobs in Edo

-

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Edo State, has pledged to revive the Bendel Brewery as part of his campaign to create jobs and support local economic development. Speaking during a recent campaign event in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Okpebholo detailed his plans to stimulate employment and improve living conditions for the residents.

Key promises from Okpebholo include:

Reviving Bendel Brewery: Okpebholo aims to restore the Bendel Brewery to its former prominence, generating job opportunities for the local population.

Employment Initiatives: He has committed to employing 500 teachers within the first 100 days of his administration and providing pipe-borne water to improve infrastructure.

Support for Women: Okpebholo plans to introduce mechanized farming, offer soft loans to women, and allocate 35% of cabinet positions to female representatives.

Matthew Urhoghide, Director General of the APC Campaign Council, urged voters to support APC, highlighting the party’s alignment with the Esan agenda and confidence in Okpebholo’s ability to address the people’s needs.

Former Governor and Senator Adams Oshiomhole called on APC supporters to be vigilant and ensure a peaceful and credible election. He raised concerns about attempts to compromise the electoral process, including allegations of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) being manipulated in certain areas. Oshiomhole emphasized the importance of defending electoral rights and promised that an APC government would make the Edo Specialist Hospital accessible to all residents. He criticized the privatization of the hospital under the current administration and pledged a thorough audit of the process.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a prominent APC member, expressed dissatisfaction with the PDP’s track record and assured voters of Okpebholo’s commitment to fulfilling his promises.

During his ward-to-ward campaign in Egor Local Government Area, Okpebholo also promised to improve road infrastructure leading to key markets, such as the spare parts market in Evbareke and Uwelu. He emphasized the market’s economic importance and pledged to enhance accessibility.

Okpebholo’s campaign underscores his dedication to economic revitalization, infrastructure development, and social support if elected as governor of Edo State.
