Borno State’s Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Planning, Alhaji Ahmed Ali Ahmed, has passed away. The incident occurred just hours after he reported for duty at his office in the Musa Usman State Secretariat in Maiduguri on Monday morning.
According to reports from some workers, Ahmed had greeted colleagues and other individuals before leaving the office less than an hour later. These sources, however, remain unconfirmed.
Ahmed, who had a background in banking with Zenith Bank, was appointed as a commissioner by Governor Babagana Zulum in August 2023.
The government has not yet released an official statement regarding his passing.
This unfortunate event follows the death of another commissioner in the Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement (RRR) just a year ago.
