The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has ushered in a new era of leadership following the retirement of several key management members. Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has announced a series of strategic appointments and redeployments to ensure continued operational efficiency and uphold the Service’s commitment to excellence.
As part of this leadership transition, the CGC has appointed several officers to acting roles to maintain seamless operations. The new appointments include:
– BM Jibo: Promoted to Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) for Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS).
– OA Alajogun: Appointed as Acting DCG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I)
–IG Umar: Takes on the role of Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) at Headquarters
– OA Salefu: Named Acting ACG for Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).
– BA Makinde: Assumes the position of Acting ACG for Human Resource Development (HRD).
– T Bomodi: Appointed as Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).
These changes are a reflection of the officers’ proven capabilities and highlight the NCS’s focus on building a strategic and effective leadership team. CGC Adeniyi expressed his appreciation for the retiring officers’ years of dedicated service and congratulated the newly appointed leaders.
He also emphasized the importance of their continued commitment to the NCS’s vital roles in revenue generation, smuggling prevention, and trade facilitation.
