Urges Citizens to Maintain Peace Amidst Protest Plans

In light of the planned nationwide protest against the government of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Ukwe of Takum has advised the residents of Takum and the entire Kuteb nation to exercise restraint and avoid participating in the protest. This is due to concerns that the protest may be hijacked by miscreants, leading to increased suffering for the people.

His Royal Highness acknowledged that the President is aware of the nation’s challenges and has been actively addressing them since assuming office. These efforts include increased allocation to states and local governments, local government financial autonomy, and initiatives such as NG-CARES.

While recognizing that the government may have made some initial errors, the Ukwe noted that the President has taken accountability and is working collaboratively with various sectors to rectify the economic trajectory of the nation.

In addition to the security concerns surrounding the protest, the Ukwe expressed gratitude to the current administration for restoring hope, peace, and security in Takum. The Nigerian Army’s efforts have led to the reopening of the Tati Market, which had been closed for two years due to insecurity.

The Ukwe encouraged the youth to continue their regular activities and avoid engaging in potentially disruptive events. He implored the Almighty to grant wisdom to the President, state governors, and local government chairmen to navigate the country through its prevailing economic challenges.
