Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged diversion of N585 million, a video has surfaced online featuring Minister Betta Edu sharing a testimony at the Winners’ Chapel annual event, Shiloh, in December 2023.
In the viral footage, Dr. Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, expressed gratitude during her testimony. She recounted a prayer she made at Shiloh 2022, where she sought divine intervention to become a minister in Nigeria by Shiloh 2023.
Edu recounted her encounter with Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners’ Chapel during the previous Shiloh event, where she approached him with her prayer request. In the video, she shared, “Last year at Shiloh 2022, I prayed and told God that by the next time I come for the next year’s Shiloh, I want to be a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Continuing her testimony, Edu described the moment she met Bishop Oyedepo during the last day of Shiloh 2022. She approached him with her request, and he reportedly prayed for her aspirations. She narrated, “I said, ‘I want to come back to Shiloh 2023 as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’. He put his hand on my head and he said, ‘It is done’.”
Despite the recent suspension and scandal surrounding her, Edu expressed her gratitude to God for becoming a minister in Nigeria. She acknowledged the uniqueness of her position as one of the youngest ministers in the Fourth Republic. In her testimony, Edu exclaimed, “I came today to return all glory to God that in spite of all odds, today I’m a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. One of the youngest in the Fourth Republic.”
